Zoe Slattery started her IBM career as a systems engineer in 1988. In 1999 she joined the software development side of the organization, going on to manage software development and test teams. Her involvement with open source began when she managed the IBM team that contributes to Apache Harmony. Zoe's interest in open source later became the motivation for leaving a management career and pursuing an active role in another open source project—PHP. Anthony Phillips is a software developer in IBM's Java Technology Centre. His current focus is on Project Zero, a simple environment for creating dynamic Web applications. Before joining IBM, Anthony was the technical lead at Exony, an innovative startup based in Newbury, UK. In previous lives Ant worked for Sony and Microsoft and thoroughly enjoyed visiting Tokyo, Seattle and several places in between. In his spare time he plays as much sport as his wife and two children let him get away with.
